July 2026: Vietnam Charity Trip

In July-August 2026, HTr. Nguyên Pháp and Adina (Oanh Vũ Nữ) travelled to Vietnam. They took the initiative and opportunity to raise money ahead of their trip in order to assemble care packages for the less fortunate people in Vietnam. They reached out to their networks online for donations and had a tin can with a unique hand-drawn design to collect spare change at sinh hoạt each week leading up to their trip. Together, they raised an incredible $3,193.00 AUD and matched this with their own donation of $1,000.00 AUD, totalling $4,193.00 AUD, equivalent to $75,264,350 VND.

HTr. Nguyên Pháp and Adina were side by side in every step of the process, from shopping for essential items, such as rice, instant noodles, oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, sugar, medications, etc. to packing them into care packages with the help of their family in Vietnam. Adina became very well versed in counting Vietnamese notes and kept accurate records of everything on her iPad.

During their 3-week trip, they travelled for many hours, visiting numerous villages from Bạc Liêu to An Giang and Kiên Giang, to personally deliver these packages and money to those less fortunate. They visited orphanages, disability schools and helped the many more people they came across in the streets. They undoubtedly made a positive difference everywhere they went, with their generosity and compassion, and reminded many of us of how fortunate we are, and to share/give what we can to others.
