On Sunday, 26 July 2026, 22 Chánh Đạo members, leaders & parents spent the morning outdoors for National Tree Day, joining Friends of Dandenong Valley Parklands, Parks Victoria, and volunteers from across the community to help restore bushland along Dandenong Creek in Wheelers Hill.
Armed with gloves, shovels, and plenty of enthusiasm, our group worked together to plant native trees and shrubs that will one day provide food and shelter for local wildlife. While each plant may seem small today, together they’ll help create a healthier, greener environment for years to come.
A huge thank you to our volunteers: Kevin Ho, Kim Bui, Kien Dao, Natasha Dao, Nelson Dao, Emma Do, Thoa Ha, Ngan Nguyen, Cindy Tran, Phukhang Nguyen, Cao Vinh Lam, Caitlin Nguyen, Jayde Ho, Evelyn Tran, Thanh Le, Loi Ho, Hang Le, Jade Duong, Thien Thanh Tran, Cao Nhan Lam, Charlie Phan, and Minh Nguyen.
Together, the team contributed 42.5 hours of volunteer service. Those hours represent a value of $1,062.50 towards our Charity Fundraising Project, bringing us one step closer to our fundraising goal while doing something meaningful for the environment.
As Chánh Đạo celebrates 40 years, we’re reminded that giving back can take many forms. National Tree Day was a wonderful opportunity to put that into action, and we’re grateful to have shared the experience with so many passionate volunteers.
