Fundraising Project FAQs

Find quick answers to your most common questions about the fundraising project.

Between 1 May 2026 and 30 April 2027, Chanh Dao will be organising numerous fundraising events for various charities and causes. We are aiming to hold one or more event each month. Keep an eye out on our ‘Events’ page as we add upcoming and new events.

Our goal is to fundraise a cumulative total of $40,000+ across these events and make a positive and lasting impact along with way.

While many of the events will raise monetary funds, we will also be practising other methods of generosity (thực hành hạnh bố thí), such as: writing letters and sharing kind words, volunteering our time through community service and caring for the environment, blood donation, etc. These non-monetary charity events will count towards our overall goal at a rate of $25/hour of participation per person.

The lessons are re-inforced in our weekly program with relevant Dharma topics selected and discussed to help our members relate theory to real-world experiences.

We invite everyone who has been part of the Chanh Dao journey, and more broadly, the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association community, to join our fundraising project. We would love to connect or re-connect with current and past members, parents, friends, supporters and affiliates.

There are many ways to get involved! You can:

Donation FAQs

Everything you need to know about giving and how your support makes a difference.

For sponsored events, click through to the official event Sponsorship Page, linked from the Event details page, to make a donation online. Alternatively, we will happily accept and make the donation on your behalf.

For events organised by Chanh Dao, you can donate via electronic bank transfer, our EFTPOS terminal and make cash donations in person. At the conclusion of the event, we will send the funds to our chosen charity or event.

Each fundraising event will go towards a specific, chosen charity. Details about the charity will be clearly communicated on our website event details and sponsorship pages. Feel free to donate towards charities or causes that are meaningful to you. If you would like to make a general donation, we can select the charity on your behalf.

Across the fundraising project, we have chosen to support a range of trusted charities. These include:

  • Social services: providing aid to individuals in crisis or chronic hardship, such as food security, housing and homelessness, domestic violence, disaster relief and humanitarian aid.
  • Health & medical research: for cures and treatment, providing patient support, health and well-being promotion, blood and organ donation.
  • Education & youth development: providing access to education and opportunities for young people.
  • Environmental conservation & community development: protecting the natural world and giving back to the local communities
  • Faith-based organisations: that promote Buddhist values and provide spiritual and community services.

Please note that 100% of the project proceeds will be directed to charity. None of the funds will be used to cover expenses, such as event registration or other organisation running costs.

A report will be provided at the conclusion of the event detailing how much money was raised for charity.
